“Oh Girl” is an unconventional life- or line-story, as the author has called it herself.
The story begins with a little girl who grows up to be a beautiful young woman. She meets a young man, they become husband and wife, and a daughter is born. The girl from the beginning is now a mother.
As it is a line-story, the daughter grows up and gives birth to a baby girl who grows up and has a daughter as well, and so on.
The story ends with the family tree’s description, as there will be so many characters in this life-story that they get mixed up. Here a family tree helps, because all the names can be written down on separate branches of the tree.
