To celebrate the upcoming 100th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia, TEA Publishers, the largest reference book publisher in Estonia, has released „Republic of Estonia 100”. This comprehensive encyclopedia contains everything that defines and characterizes Estonia.
„Republic of Estonia 100” is thematically divided into 6 chapters with the general introductory chapter being followed by History, Population, Nature, Economy and Culture. The 400-page encyclopedic work gives an overview of how the independent Republic of Estonia was created, how it lost its independence, what was life like in the exile and the occupied Estonia, and how the state was restored and the Republic of Estonia rebuilt. Estonia's national order, administrative division, population, economy, nature and various cultural fields (including folk culture) and sports are also thoroughly considered.
TEA Publishers has been working on „Republic of Estonia 100” since 2008. It is partly based on the special edition of the TEA Encyclopedia „Republic of Estonia 100” and the TEA e-Encyclopedia www.ents.ee. Altogether, „Republic of Estonia 100” has been created by over 250 authors, compilers, editors, consultants and illustrators. The book is illustrated with more than 1,000 new and historic photographs and numerous maps, charts and tables.
